In Extension Visual Art students will:
- be able to access opportunities not usually available at school through workshops and enter competitions.
- learn to work to deadlines for exhibitions
- learn to present and document their artwork for school and the wider community
- produce work that will enrich the school environment
- learn to work cooperatively, and well as independently
- enter a number of competitions
- Students will be expected to work in their own time, to use their initiative and contribute ideas.
Selection is based on:
- students application
- students passion and work ethic in Year 7
- students vision for The Arts at Heaton Normal Intermediate
- students ability to work independently in school and in their own time.
New entry students should make themselves known and show artwork they have produced previously.
